Ohio Farm Bureau’s signature ag literacy and workforce development program, ExploreAg, offers FREE week, multi-day and day-long immersion programs for high school students. In ExploreAg, teens learn about agriculture and related STEM fields from industry experts, scientists, and educators. Participants visit locations like Kroger and Bob Evans, manufacturers like John Deere and Certified Angus Beef, and research laboratories at OSU, Wilmington and Findlay. Youth are able to develop their leadership and collaboration skills and prepare for college and further careers.

2024 Weeklong Summer Camps:

  • OSU Columbus Campus, June 9-14
  • OSU Wooster Campus, June 16-21
  • University of Findlay, July 7-12 2024

Summer Mini & One-Day Camps:

  • COLT Electric Lineman Training, May 31
  • Wilmington College, June 4-7

Deadline to apply is April 15. Selected students will be notified via email no later than May 1.

Youth Entrepreneur Weekend Camp

Do you know any youth that are interested in taking over the family farm, starting their own farm, or owning their own business in the agriscience industry?  Please see the attached flyer to anyone that is interested in attending Agricultural Entrepreneurship Camp on the weekend of September 24-26.  It is open to all youth that are in high school.  Registration is now open and can be found here: http://go.osu.edu/exploreagcamp. This camp is a partnership between Explore Ag, Lucas County Extension, Franklin County Extension, Hocking College, Grow Next Gen, Venture Lab, and Young Entrepreneur Institute. ExploreAg Camps for High School Students

Attention high school students!  Teens interested in agricultural careers don’t want to miss this amazing and FREE opportunity to spend a week on a college campus exploring the world of agricultural careers.  The application to apply is March 30. Check out the four opportunities this summer at ExploreAg.org.

 A Camp Like No Other

The ExploreAg program is a week-long experience where high school students interact with and learn from internationally known teachers, scientists, and researchers.  Students are hosted on campus at the Ohio State University and Central State University and are introduced to various aspects of agriculture both in the classroom and through diverse hands-on learning experiences, both on and off campus.  Subject areas include food science, precision agriculture, animal science, natural resources, management skills, technology, and agricultural business.  In addition to the classroom experience, scholars will participate in field experiences that highlight cutting-edge research, and introduce industry partners, to provide scholars with a glimpse of innovative careers in related fields.

ExploreAg will offer four camp sessions in 2019!
Session 1- June 9-14 at OSU Main Campus 
Session 2-June 16-21 at OSU Main Campus 
Session 3-June 23-28 at the OSU ATI Campus 
Session 4- July 7-12 at Central State University 

The ExploreAg program is completely free for students.
-Supervision is provided at all times by faculty, staff, and six program counselors.
-Applications are due March 30
-Campers will be notified of selection in late April

Scholars are selected through a competitive application process requiring:
-a completed application
-1-3-minute video submission exploring 
How can technology be used to end hunger?”

Your video application should:
-Start by stating your name and a short introduction of yourself.
-Respond to how you think technology can be used to end hunger.
-Show that you are well researched, creative, and demonstrate your interest in the subject.
-Please note that your videos will be uploaded to YouTube and shared with the selection committee and the general public

*campers selected will be asked to provide a deposit of $50 that will be returned the week of camp

Program costs, which include on-campus accommodations, meals, staffing, course supplies, program materials, and transportation, have been generously sponsored by the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation as a part of their vision to create a strong farm and food community for all Ohioans.
