Youth Backyard Poultry Production Virtual Clinic

There will be a free Backyard Poultry Production Virtual Clinic held in partnership with the Harrison/Jefferson Co. Extension ANR and 4H programs on Tuesday May 25th @ 6:30 pm.  The clinic is geared towards youth but youth of all ages are invited.  The class is free but registration is required so check out the registration link below and bring your friends and your questions.

Ground Up Horsemanship Clinic

R8 Performance Horses, LLC is offering a Ground Up Horsemanship Clinic on June 19, 2021 at 10 a.m.  They will have Burdette Horseshoeing and Caleb Lash Equine Dentistry as speakers and will also touch on the importance of equine nutrition and proper saddle and equipment fit.  It will be $15 per person or $50 for a family of 4 or more.  If you would like to attend as a 4-H club please ask for pricing details.  Please RSVP to R8performancehorsesllc@gmail.com.

110% Livestock Show Clinic

My name is Levi Hartschuh, a lifetime 4-H and FFA member in Crawford county, this year for my senior project through Wynford High School I am hosting a livestock show clinic. I have a strong passion for the agricultural and livestock industries, and hope to educate youth on how to make their show ring performance 110%. This clinic will be held on March 14th at Fogle’s sale pavilion in Marion Ohio. The clinic will be broken down into 3 sessions, the sessions include:

  • 10 -11:30am – Sheep & Goats
  • 11:45 – 12:15pm – Umbarger Feeds (nutrition clinic)
  • 12:30 – 2pm – Beef & Dairy Feeders & Swine

Early Registration for this event is February 26th, forms turned in by this date guarantee a t-shirt and a spot at the clinic. The registration fee is $20.00 per youth exhibitor, this fee will cover all species clinics.

2020 Youth Poultry Clinic

The 2020 Youth Poultry Clinic will be held Saturday, April 18, at OSU ATI, Wooster.  The postmark deadline for registration is Wednesday, April 1.  The cost for the clinic is $25.00 for adults and $20.00 for youth. Tentative topics are: Necropsy, Processing/Meats, Exhibition Poultry, Digestion/Nutrition, OPA/Careers, Youth Quality Assurance, Broilers A-Z, Laying Hens/Eggs, and a Question/Answer Corner.

Refreshments and lunch are included in the registration fee. Vendors will be present.

2019 Passport to Fishing Clinic

On Saturday, June 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. youth can engage in a hands-on rotation of stations featuring Fish Habitat, Fish Handling, Fishing Knots and Rigging, Casting, Smart Boating and Water Safety and Understanding a Watershed taught by local instructors of partnering agencies and organizations.

This clinic is free but registration is required. Deadline to register is May 22, please visit the Knox County Park District at www.knoxcountyparks.org and click on the Events tab for registration form. Space is limited to the first 100 youth to register.
