Possible AEV Designs

Maddie Thew’s AEV Mock Design with Dimensions

The idea behind this design is something that is aerodynamic and can deliver patrons quickly and effectively while keeping everyone safe. The AEV would also be designed to hold the maximum number of people by attaching the battery to the bottom and the Arudino to the back of the AEV.

This design was modeled to look like a hammerhead shark. This design is aerodynamic due to its fins, and can reach a high top speed due to a minimalist design. Being aerodynamic and lightweight, this design will also have high energy efficiency without sacrificing performance, making it a viable option for further development.

Nia Johnson’s AEV Design Sketch

The design was modeled after a fighter jet. The nose of the AEV is pointed and the wings are angled upward in order to cut through the air and maximize its aerodynamics. A minimal amount of additional features were added in order to reduce drag and weight while ensuring efficiency.

Phillip Ellerman’s AEV Design Sketch

This was designed similar to a plane. The long wings in the back were used to reduce drag, and the the front was used to hold the wings. The smaller body was used to minimize weight as well as maximize efficiently.

Team Sketch Design

This is the decided team sketch for the AEV design. The reoccurring detail in all of the team members’ sketches was a pointed, aerodynamic nose. The team also decided it was necessary to add wings angled upwards for the purpose of making sure the propellers have space to spin without hitting the body of the AEV and the apparatus is as compact as possible. Solidworks will be utilized in order to create a cover that increases aerodynamics and speed. The arduino and the battery will be placed on opposite sides of the base. The arduino being on the top towards the pointed nose, and the battery being on the back towards the magnet and underneath the base. The original arm that sits on the track will remain the same.
