Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline
We created a map to demonstrate one of BP’s pipelines. The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline reaches from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean Sea to be transported across the Atlantic to the US. BP has reserves in the US as well. One of its most famous is in the Gulf of Mexico. BP transports its oil from there to its refineries, the closest one to there being in Toledo, Ohio. Oil is transported there, refined, and then shipped out to various gas stations, including BP stations and other companies that purchase BP gas.
All of this information is easily gathered from BP’s website. BP has made efforts to become more transparent to garner public support after their 2010 oil spill.
