Software engineer: 

Software engineer is a good choice for me. Because I’m interested in computer, sitting in front of a computer will not be a boring job. In addition, my mathematics is also my strength, so I have a very good foundation in writing code algorithms. Compared with my major, this career fits me very well. Since my major is computer science and information, I can finish the programming in four years in OSU. I’m very pleased with the salary. According to the Payscale, the average salary for a Software Engineer is $86,005, which is very enough. It’s very fortunately that Popular Skills for Software Engineers is java which is I’m studying now. Years of Experience is a point of making better salary. An entry-level Software Engineer with less than 1 year experience can earn an average total of $75,627. According to the statistic, an early career Software Engineer with 1-4 years of experience earns an average total of $83,085. A mid-career Software Engineer with 5-9 years of experience earns an average total of $93,767. An experienced Software Engineer with 10-19 years of experience earns an average total of $103,825. And the most important is the level of satisfaction is very high in software engineering. I consider the satisfaction lever is more important than salary, because satisfaction means the happiness of this job.

 

Account：

Account is not a good choice for me. Even though it has very high hourly wage, it is very boring in my thought. Average accountant salary is 51,336$ which is very high. My intended major is computer Science which has nothing to do with accounting. Despite of Mathematics is my strong point, working with numbers every day is still boring for me. The website displays that in LA , California, employees with an accounting title earn an average of 14.9 percent more than the national average. In Seattle, Washington (up 14.4 percent) and New York, New York (up 13.8 percent), those positions also paid more than average. So for accountant, LA, Seattle , Washington and New York are more better place to work. And there are twice as many women as men in this occupation. I understand that a girl’s detailed personality is more suitable for this job.

My hobby:

  • I always say that “ Basketball is my life”. When I was in grade 8, I started to play basketball. Because of my height and stength, I was selected to the junior high school basketball team from junior two. So I keep on playing basketball every day, and played a lot of games with the school team. Besides basketball, computer games is one of my hobbies too. I play all kinds of games, including FTG,RPG,MOBA… However, my favourite game is GTA, which is very free.           .

My past:

  • I have traveled to many places. In 2016, I went to a 22-day summer camp in the US. First I spent 7 days in LA. I stayed with a host family and visited Disneyland, Universal Studios, and the Staples Center. These seven days have made me deeply feel the difference between Chinese culture and American culture. For the next half month ,I flew to Philadelphia, New York, Boston. I was very impressed by Harvard University in Boston. I was attracted by the profound academic atmosphere and the lively relationship among my classmates. From then on, I made up my mind to study in America.

My reason and plan:

Because of my love for basketball, OSU’s performance in the NCAA is one of the reasons I chose OSU. It’s really exciting to watch the intense basketball games, cheer for your own school team, and be classmates with NCAA stars. The second reason I chose OSU has the largest gym in the United States. The unity of the OSU is also one of the important reasons for my choice. My major is computer science and information. My interest in computers led me to choose this major. In addition, computer programming offers better employment prospects and social needs, which are also the reasons why I choose this subject.
