Scholars Event: The Wilds

As a member of the Biological Sciences Scholars program, I have the opportunity to do a different scholars event each month. For October of my sophomore year, I went to the Wilds with my best friend and fellow Biological Sciences scholars member, Shana. We were able to travel to Cumberland Ohio to go on a tour of the Wilds. During this trip, we saw a variety of different animals, including rhinos, deer, ostriches, and my personal favorite: giraffes. We were able to see the animals in an environment that mirrors their natural habitats. We learned about their diets, their mating habits, and their daily habits. We are able to get really close to the animals, with many of the animals coming right up to the cart we were riding in. This was a great event as we were able to learn about animals and see them up close, as well as take a break from studying and explore outside of campus.
