Artifacts

This is the bid I received for my fraternity Alpha Tau Omega. This artifact is important to me because it was great way to start the second semester and represents the opportunity available to me at Ohio State.  I tried getting involved early in the semester with organizations such as the business frats: Delta Sigma Pi and Alpha Kappa Psi, and Buckeye Capital Investors, but I did not get in.  Since those early stumbles I persevered and got accepted into Scarlet and Gray Financial, Undergraduate Finance Association and the Freshman Global Lab trip to Germany.  Then, I was so excited to receive a bid to my top fraternity choice.  I am looking forward to continue exploring new organizations at Ohio state such as the Investment Banking Club and also reapplying to Buckeye Capital Investors.

About Me

My name is Matthew Vulku, and I am a freshman here at Ohio State.  I grew up in Westlake Ohio which is a suburb on the west side of Cleveland.

I graduated from Westlake High School, which had a graduating class of 315.  Ohio State has always been one of my top college choices.  Many of my friends and family members have gone to Ohio State so I was always around the campus and I would hear about all the great opportunities Ohio State had to offer.  The fact that Ohio State had such a great business school sealed the deal for me deciding to attend.

Now that I am at Ohio State, I am pursuing a double major in Finance and International Business, with a possible minor in Geography. I also enjoy rooting for Cleveland sports teams and travelling. Since becoming a Buckeye, I have gotten involved in numerous organizations such as Scarlet and Gray Financial, the Undergraduate Finance Association, and am currently in the initiation process to become a brother of Alpha Tau Omega at Ohio State. I am also excited to study abroad in Germany for the Freshman Global Lab in May.  Before I graduate, I would like to hold a leadership position in one of my involvements, do community service and continue to study abroad, and to continue to explore Columbus by trying new restaurants and going to some Columbus Crew games.
