Welcome to the Venere Lab!

Venere Lab Mission

Our lab aims to reveal novel insights into the cellular and molecular biology of the normal and neoplastic brain. From these efforts we will make discoveries that may lead to curative treatments for brain tumors as well as further our insight into neurodevelopment. We are also focused on fostering the next generation of scientists by building a lab environment that promotes adherence to the scientific method, teamwork, research integrity, and a work hard/work smart attitude.

Our Research Areas

Adult and pediatric brain tumors, neurodevelopment,  neural stem cells, cancer stem cells, primary cilia, resistance mechanisms to radio- and chemo-therapy, DNA damage response and repair, cell cycle, post-translational modifications, chromatin, kinesins, invasion, proteomics, cell and molecular biology, mouse modeling
