Should First-Year students be allowed to have cars on campus?

First-Year students should be allowed to have cars on campus.

  1. First-Year students at Ohio State are required to live on campus. However, some First-Year students are not required to live in a dorm if they live within 20 miles of the Ohio State Campus. This means that these students will need access to cars to get to campus.
  2. In the United States, the minimum legal driving age is 16 years old. Most students who are attending college are 18 years or older. This means students are old enough to drive, and therefore should have access to their cars.
  3. Students at Ohio State can join clubs, but some activities are off-campus and the students need cars to get to these activities.

The minimum driving age in each state varies.
