The Ohio State University Department of African American and African Studies invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Appointment in conjunction with the Arts and Humanities Discovery Theme project on Transnational Black Citizenship.
The successful candidate will teach one course per semester in the Department of African American and African Studies and be actively engaged intellectually with the Discovery Theme project. Candidates will be evaluated using the following criteria: 1) academic grounding in social justice research focusing on blackness in a transnational or domestic context in any field; 2) research agenda linking the humanities to fields such as law, public policy, medicine, public health, education, social work, or the social sciences; and 3) experience designing and teaching Africana Studies courses. Candidates must have the PhD conferred by July 1, 2017.
Complete applications will include: a letter of interest detailing research and teaching interests as well as contact information for references; a curriculum vitae; and a scholarly writing sample no longer than 30 pages.
