Psychology: Making Connections

Psychology:

Making Connections

The purpose of Psychology: Making Connections is to help undergraduate students pursuing a degree in psychology to understand the connections between psychology coursework and the discipline of psychology, for example, understanding why and how we write in a particular style (American Psychological Association, APA), how to read and discuss a research article, what to do with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and for some, understanding the pathways that lead to graduate training to become a “psychologist”. Sessions are led by Dr. Virginia Tompkins of the psychology department at OSU-Lima. These are not lectures, but interactive, hands-on, and informal sessions in which students can drop in to learn something new and ask questions. Students who attend will receive handouts relevant to each topic. There is no preparation needed for any of these sessions. I will take attendance for any instructors offering extra credit. Below are the events scheduled for this semester, including what you can expect to gain from each session.
