Building Blocks

Before beginning a project, I like to practice mise en place, or “putting in place”. I have some idea of modular building / installation work I’d like to tinker with, but first it’s important to build the blocks. These “blocks”, or modular origami, are currently being stored in spear-formation, but I do not plan to build with them in this kind of formation. This storage method just enhances the memory of the folds I make.

It’s a good thing I’ve hoarded this paper for 10+ years.

  1. Mary Anne is reading Billy Collins to me… several times I have noted (quietly t myself) that I need to remember this poem for Karen or this poem for Geren or this poem for Shahid.
I don’t remember because I drift off to sleep.
This one might be something for you and I will try to remember more or simply give you space to follow or wander away.

Find “The Biography of a Cloud”.

    • Thank you for the recommendation- I didn’t know his work but it is phenomenal and incredibly relatable. I can’t stop rereading The Biography of a Cloud.
