I went to Eden Burger with my roommates who are also in HES on 11/11/18. Eden Burger is a cute little vegan burger joint in the Short North area. One of my roommates is vegan, another is vegetarian, and I do not eat beef so I feel like this restaurant choice was very accommodating to everybody. At Eden Burger I ordered a black bean burger with avocado spread that was called The California Burger. Previously I had not ever really ate black bean burgers, I have always opted for a chicken sandwich or something. However, I thought the black bean burger at Eden Burger was very good. I also had a smoothie and I got a pumpkin roll as a dessert for later. My favorite aspect about Eden Burger was that all of the food was delicious, vegan, and made from cruelty-free ingredients. It is definitely a place that I would recommend to friends and would even go back to. However, in the future I would like to explore other aspects of Columbus outside of the short north. Only because I feel like I have explored the Short North a lot and all of the different restaurants in the Short North, but I have not really ventured outside of the Short North area.
Month: November 2018
Artifact #2
Throughout the autumn semester, I have tried to explore different areas of Columbus. I have explored the various restaurants that the Short North has to offer, I have been shopping at Polaris, and I have even gone to the Ikea in Columbus. However, one place that really stuck with me was the North Market. The first time I went to the North Market was with my Humanitarian engineering scholars peer group, and I instantly fell in love with it. In fact, I loved it so much that when my family came to visit I made sure to bring them there. A couple of things that I really liked about the North Market is how culturally diverse everything was, how it emphasized small businesses, and how it provided me with a place to go for a mental break. As school keeps getting more and more hectic, the North Market reminds me the importance of having balance in my life, and to make time to do things that I enjoy.
