Eric W. Healy, Ph.D.

Eric received the Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (1998), and completed predoctoral (NTT Basic Research Laboratories in Japan) and postdoctoral (Arizona State University) research fellowships. He was Assistant/Associate Professor at the University of South Carolina from 2001-2008 and is now Professor and Joan N. Huber Fellow at The Ohio State University. His work on speech perception is funded by a number of sources, including NIH. Eric teaches courses on hearing science, speech perception, and cochlear implants, and has advised a number of graduate students. He has served as the department’s Ph.D. Program Director and Graduate Studies Chair, and he serves/d on the College Tenure & Promotion Panel and the Executive Committee for the OSU Center for Cognitive and Brain Sciences. Outside the university, he serves/d as grant reviewer, outside tenure reviewer, on the ASA Technical Committee for P&P Acoustics, and as an Associate Editor for JSLHR. Finally, he is a Fellow and Silver Certificate holder of the ASA.
