Spring Break has concluded and it’s back to classes, but students have a few more things to look forward to before summer begins. A time honored Ohio State custom, The Oval will soon transform into Oval Beach, a lush expanse of grass nestled into the concrete and steel of Columbus.

Here are some things you can do on Oval Beach:

• Tan
• Bring your pet
• Frisbee
• Pick up a sandwich from the Union and eat it on Oval Beach
• Take a nap in the shade
• Study with your friends
• String up a hammock
• Play an instrument

If you’re looking for a more structured event, check out the Movie on the Oval hosted by the Ohio Union Activity Board (OUAB). On April 15, 2015, OUAB will be showing “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” on a giant inflatable screen. Tickets are not required, so just show up with a blanket or a lawn chair at 7 p.m. and enjoy yourself.

The last days of every spring semester are the hardest, and the slight breeze tickling you from an open window in your calculus class can be so cruel. The silver lining is that Oval Beach will be there to brighten up your day in between classes. So break out your Frisbees and sunscreen, because it’s that time of year again!

It’s no secret, Buckeyes love their football team.  The first taste of Ohio State football each year comes in the form of the Spring Game.  This year’s spring exhibition is the first real-game step for the Undisputed National Champions.  This annual match-up between scarlet and gray teams provides not only fun and excitement, but a first glimpse into this year’s team.

The game is set to take on place on April 18, 2015, in Ohio Stadium.  Tickets are $5 and available for purchase right here.  So, grab your best Buckeye friends and make sure to get tickets so you can check out the game!

Spring practice 2015.

On a day all about Buckeye pride, you have to show up looking the part.  Grab some gear to wear to the game at Barnes & Noble College in the Ohio Union!  They offer a wide selection of high-quality apparel to show your scarlet & gray colors.

In addition to the Spring Game, the fourth annual Student Appreciation Day is April 11, 2015.  Practice will be open to students and there will be food trucks, competitions, the opportunity to get your photo with the National Championship trophy and more!  Buses will transport students to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center from three campus locations, including the Ohio Union.  Full details can be found here.
