Thanksgiving in the Ohio Union

You may not be able to make it home for Thanksgiving but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate. Everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy all the food, festivities and fun that accompanies Thanksgiving, which is why every year the Ohio Union helps host the annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Come join us this Thursday, November 26 for some savory turkey and delicious pumpkin pie. Seating for dinner will begin at 11:45 a.m. and dinner will continue until 4 p.m. Tickets are available beginning November 16 at Hale Black Cultural Center and the Ohio Union Information Center. Tickets are free for all who wish to attend Thanksgiving Dinner.

Pumpkin pies featured at the Ohio Union's Thanksgiving dinnerThe annual Thanksgiving Dinner has been a tradition here at Ohio State for the last 24 years. The first Thanksgiving Dinner at Ohio State was composed of 25 graduate students who gathered at Hale Black Cultural Center to celebrate together. Since then the annual dinner has grown to over 1,600 guests from the Ohio State community.

The event is one of the largest Thanksgiving Day dinners on a college campus. This day would not be possible without wonderful volunteers. If you live in the Columbus area and would like to give back, this is a fantastic opportunity to make this holiday special for those who could not spend it with their families. If you are interested in volunteering for the second shift please visit http://go.osu.edu/Thanksgiving2015Shift2 to sign up and help.
