Sorority Hosts Iron Chef-Style Event in Ohio Union

Are you a fan of the TV show Iron Chef? Have you ever wanted to be a part of a cooking show? Well, keep reading because this event is for you!

Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority Inc. brings to you their 5th annual Iron Chef competition. This event is based on the Food Network TV show, Iron Chef America. Four teams will compete against each other by cooking an appetizer, entree and dessert based around a “secret ingredient.” Each person in attendance at the event will be given 5 tickets for food (One ticket per plate). There will be a panel of judges that will taste each team’s dishes and award the first place winners $100 to a charity of their choice.

Competing in this year’s competition are:

  • Malaysian Student Association, Reigning Champions
  • Chinese American Student Association
  • Society of Asian Scientists & Engineers
  • Pi Delta Psi Fraternity

The purpose of Iron Chef is to educate attendees about how to promote culture through food. All are welcome to experience this event. Along with the free food, there will be guest speakers and trivia for entertainment. Come to Instructional Kitchen (Lower Level of the Ohio Union) for a creative and interactive experience with cultural food! Doors open at 6 p.m. and the festivities scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

In case that didn’t sound like enough fun, you can also get credit for attending because this event is a Standard of Excellence – Diversity for Greek Life event.
