Leadership Reflevtive Journal 1

Journal,

A few days ago in class, we talked about Martin Luther King Jr.’s  “I Have a Dream” speech.  I know a lot of people really like this speech because of all of the good that came out of it, and I completely agree.  However, I find the speech inspiring for a considerably different reason.

King’s speech inspires me, because he shows the influence a person can have on a nation — the influence to do something good.  Not a lot of people agreed with him in the beginning, but, after hearing him, they wanterd to learn more.  He turned a nation out of darkness and into the bright future that could await everyone with open arms.  Everyone had the same opportunity with that sun.

He inspires me with his attitude.  He was not violent in his actions, which was uncommon in such a movement.  The peacefulness of his situation and ideas is exactly what I hope for the future.
