About Me

Taken at George Washington University

Taken at George Washington University

Change is good, that’s why I am so anxious to start my journey at OSU. Coming from a hometown with a population less than 20,000 people, these next four years will be a brand new experience. My high school was small and lacked diversity, so I longed to further my education somewhere big, diverse, and full of opportunity.

In high school I learned that the saying, “hard work pays off,” holds true. I finished high school in three years and was still able to go above and beyond. My work ethic and motivation were the only two things that allowed me to reach my accomplishments. Also even though after 9 years of running cross country I quit, I continued to run as a daily activity and just completed my first half marathon in April of ’16. I will always hold close the desire to succeed and work to for my ambitions.

My high school has the honor of having an extraordinary Biology teacher on staff, and he has lead me to my interest in sciences and the medical field. My major is currently Molecular Genetics, even though that does not mean much until year 3. I struck interest in the genetics section of AP Biology and am fascinated by the advancements the field keeps developing.

At Ohio State I know I will not only learn in the class room, but I will develop as an individual. I want to be adventurous and bold in my next four years. I hope to join clubs, establish student/professor relationships, and make some kind of impact on and off campus.
