About Me

My name is Sarthak Shah and I am a fourth year Eminence and Stamps Scholar at OSU majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Philosophy.

I am committed to the study of the human mind through multidisciplinary means. Through principles of behavioral psychology, I have led development of SmileChild – an app aimed at new mothers to provide incentivized and engaging educational content for raising infants. From the biological lens, I have studied the neurometabolic impacts of Traumatic Brain Injury through mouse models. Through NASA’s Micro-G NExT Competition, I helped design and engineer intuitive ergonomics and mechanisms for a novel Extravehicular Activity camera mount for astronauts on the International Space Station. Through philosophy coursework, I have explored viewpoints examining consciousness, cognition, and morality. I hope to continue on this journey of unpacking the mind in medical school to pursue a career as a physician scientist.

In my free time, I enjoy creating paintings. I often say that I am a scientist in training but an artist at heart. Painting forms the foundation for my approach to creativity and is my personal form of therapy and expression. I also enjoy outdoor activities, building/flying FPV (first person view) drones, and spending time with friends and family.
