My Plants-Although they might not look like much to someone, my little plants mean quite a bit to me. I‘ve had these plants for only a couple of months, but caring for them has provided me with comfort. Providing care for these plants gives me a sense of responsibillity and keeps my focus off of sad thoughts. Two of the plants pictured are in pots that I painted at two seperate events. In fact, all three plants were recieved at different events themselves. From left to right we have, a plant and pot I painted and recieved from the Recess event that helped deal with mental health, the middle I painted and recieved from an RA event, and the last plant I obtained at the involvement fair at the start of the semester.

Art Show (Portfolio Prep.) – Art has been a huge part of my life since I was little. My love for art and creating it came from my dad. My dad used to draw my sister and me our stuffed animals when we were younger and we loved it. My dad took notice in our interest and started bringing home these huge rolls of paper for my sister and me to draw on. From those days on I continued to do art on and off up through high school where I took a class called Portfolio Prep my senior year. Port Prep was my first and best class of my day where I (and about 15 other kids) made art with the end goal being to have good pieces for the main event; the end of the year art show. Being in Port Prep (the top art class) meant that you were able to create an art booth for the show with all your art in it (Mine is the pictures above). Being in this class has shown me, even more, my love of art and has inspired me to not stop creating even in college, which is why I choose to pursue engineering where both my interest and math/science and art could show through.
