Hi, I’m Eleanor Seibert, but my friends and family call me Ellie! I am freshman pre-engineering major from Lakewood, Ohio! I attended Magnificat High School, where I graduated last spring. Throughout my time at Magnificat, I was involved with various academic clubs, was a school ambassador, taught Sunday School classes, volunteered and shadowed at the Cleveland Clinic, and performed in various ballets, such as the Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty.
As a pre-major, I am considering the different avenues I could take within the College of Engineering. The engineering fields that interest me currently are Biomedical Engineering and Integrated Systems Engineering. I find anything medical to be extremely fascinating and I would love to help others in my future career, leading me to choose Biomedical Engineering. However, Integrated Systems Engineering also interests me because I am an avid planner and detail-oriented person. I would love to incorporate my skills in problem solving and math with something business related. Ideally, I would love to combine the two! Regardless of the path I choose, I know I will be personally motivated and hold myself to a high standard of excellence.
Outside of the classroom, I love to dance! I am a member of Momentum Contemporary Ballet and take dance classes at Sullivant. Ballet is my favorite style of dance because it is so disciplined and progress within it is visible. Dancing is a stress-reliever and has helped me gain so much confidence.
When reflecting about my identity, I recognize that family is extremely important. I credit my parents and grandparents with shaping me into the person I am today. I also hold personal value in my Christian faith and find it motivates me to be the best that I can be for myself and others.
In my upcoming years at Ohio State, I hope I delve into a major that I am passionate about and continue to refine myself as someone who is motivated by my core values in pursuits in and outside the classroom.
