I am a doctoral candidate in the Department of French and Italian at The Ohio State University. My research in the field of Italian Screen Studies focuses on visual politics and representations of migration in contemporary Italian documentaries.
I teach Italian Language classes and worked as a Teaching Associate for GE courses, leading recitation sections for “Introduction to Italian Cinema: Sex and Politics” (GE Visual Performing Arts and Diversity Global Studies) and “Introduction to the Humanities: Cross-Cultural Perspective” (GE Literature and Diversity Global Studies). Also, I am resident director of the study abroad program “The Italian City” in Bologna during the summer semester.
Recently, as a fellow of the Center of the Humanities in Practice, I have worked as Graduate Research Associate for the Office of Distance Education and eLearning. I studied how implicit and algorithm biases can impact students engagment, mindset or desire to build digital skills. I supported the Digital Flagship Initiative ensuring that the student-facing programming, content, and messaging were inclusive and avoided unintended bias.
As a filmmaker, I have directed and produced documentaries, television programs, and short movies which include a variety of topics and testimonials. Also, I have extensive experience leading visual literacy and new media workshops with diverse audiences.
