Artifacts

My artifact is my shaker bottle. Since I’ve arrived to OSU, I have valued my physical health. Me and my friends lift 5-6 times a week and I use this shaker bottle after workouts to make protein shakes. In high school, I kept busy by playing sports. But, in college I had to find a new hobby to keep busy. I think that this bottle, a representation of hard work and grit, can be represented beyond working out. During my first semester I worked very hard to do well in academics as well as working out.

Taking more care of my physical health has helped me destress around strenuous times at school. Also, I have met some of my closest friends while working out. This commitment to go to the gym 5-6 days a week taught me how to better manage time and a lot about myself.

About Me

I’m Michael Rutsky and I am a freshman at Ohio State. I am currently Specializing in Finance and a member of the Business Scholars Program. I’m very interested in social studies, philosophy, and business. My main goal at Ohio State is to be able to successfully combine my education with my social life. In addition, I’d like to work in investment banking after I leave OSU.

In high school, I was heavily involved in athletics. I was the captain of the soccer team, as well as the kicker for the football team. Also, I was a very active leader in Israeli Culture Club, Comets Fighting Cancer, and the Freshmen Mentoring Program.
