For this lab we used the program BeeHave to predict the outcomes of bee colonies under different conditions. I predicted that by doubling the amount of available flowers to forage from, I would increase the honey available at the end of the year. However, my bees with more flowers had 2kg less honey at the end of the year. I believe this is because the total number of bees was greater for the colony with more flowers, and this more rich colony consumed more honey sustaining the additional bees.
