Retailers

After the the game gets distributed it goes to the retailers. For games the retailers have a wide range stores that they distribute their products to.These are mainly bigger stores like Wal-Mart, Best-Buy, and Target.Online stores like amazon are becoming very popular with gamers. This is because it is very fast at getting games to where they need to go and a lot of times are a little cheaper. These stores are driving some of the gaming stores like GameStop to lose some customers because they have a bigger selection. After the customers get the games and consoles the companies gather feedback from the consumers and immediately start working on their next projects. With this the commodity chain then starts its process over again with its consoles and games getting(hopefully) better and better as the industry grows bigger. Because of this the consumer feedback becomes very important since without their feedback games and consoles would not improve. Currently the PS4 is leading the console sales with over 19 million units sold followed by XBOX One with over 11 million and finally the Wii U with over 9 million (Epstein). Console sales continue to increase as more consumers come into the industry and prices drop so others will get more then one console. With the growth in consoles game sales also go up causing the game industry to be an over $100 Billion industry. This industry will continue to get bigger as other parties start to realize how influential the games are. A good example of this is the country of Denmark used the game Minecraft to create their own country. They did this in order for education purposes like using the model for student to build a playground outside their school for projects (Farokhmanesh). With applications like this video games will continue to grow as they are used for more then entertainment. With the ability to simulate anything video games will be able to be used to simulate driving, flight, or other subject to an accurate degree to help with training for jobs. Video games are here to stay and will continue to grow until they evolve into something bigger.

  1. Nowadays, electronic versions of the game and platforms that distribute them like Steam are becoming more and more popular. Among other things, they begin to compete with each other by offering various bonuses and demo versions of games before purchasing them, a kind of marketing.

  2. If you wanna know my opinion, I will share it. And that means that nobody cares about physical game distribution any longer. All of the gaming world is online now. Look at me, for example. I use https://damangame.com/ to play the most exciting money-making games. I live in a small village in Ohio. Can you imagine me taking my truck and driving to some store for a console game or a DVD? Never!

  3. The way games are distributed now is really shifting things in the industry. Big retailers are still in the game, but mobile apps are seriously making waves. I mean, it makes sense no need to go anywhere, use scratch codes, etc. It’s no wonder places like this sports app are gaining more customers. The industry’s growing like crazy, and it’s not just about playing anymore. Games are being used for all kinds of things, including socializing, training, and even betting game improvement. It’s like we’re at the start of something huge.
