Pyter Lab Vision: To improve the mental and bodily health of cancer patients and survivors.
Pyter Lab Mission: Our group uses integrative biology approaches to understand the biological mechanisms underlying behavioral side effects of cancer and cancer treatments. We primarily use rodent models of cancer, but also perform some clinical research with cancer patients. We expect these mechanisms to provide insights into novel therapeutic approaches to ameliorate these side effects, which reduce quality of life and treatment compliance and increase mortality in the large and growing populations of cancer survivors.
