Participating in STEM Scholars allowed me to be surrounded by like-minded people. Throughout my first semester in STEM Scholars, I have had many memorable experiences. One of my best experiences was going to Zoo Lights with my fellow STEM Scholars.This experience let me build community with other STEM Scholars.
Along with this, I also gained a sense of Global Awareness. While traversing the zoo, many different signs were placed that displayed what species were endangered. It was shocking to witness how many different species of the world are in danger. Animals across the world are facing extinction due to deforestation and poaching. Visiting the zoo deepened my understanding of just how mankind is sharing the world.
