Mick is the Manufacturing Business Development Specialist for the MTSBDC.
Prior to Mick’s employment with OSU, he was a Quality Manager at a Gray Iron Foundry that specialized in green sand molding. Mick’s professional background is in machining where he spent 15 years as a manual machinist, CNC mill operator and programmer, and pattern maker. He has worked for nearly 20 years in a variety of manufacturing facilities in production support, quality control, and management.
Community/Personal Business Experience:
Mick has served the community as a member of his local School Board, youth league coach, Jr. High Girls’ basketball coach, as well as a Youth Pastor and Senior Pastor at two different churches. He is currently the Senior Pastor at a church in southern Ohio.
Mick was helped establish and served as President of Overflow: A Mission Serving Western Pike County, Ohio. Overflow is a non-profit organization providing food, clothing, home improvements, school supplies, etc. for underprivileged families and children in the region.
Why do you think OSU South Centers is so successful?
I’m relatively new to OSU but I believe the family atmosphere here at South Centers spills over to the companies and individuals we help. This lets them understand we really care about them, their company, and the projects we are working on. ~ Mick Whitt
