Project Statement
My goal for this project was to use shapes to convey the sense of serenity to the viewer. Along with this my primary principle was movement, with me secondary principle being harmony. With this energy in mind, I tested several compositions with circles, squares, and triangles, and found that circles supported my intention the strongest. After several more iterations I decided to use a repeated circle composition created with varied sizes of circles. In order to support my intention of serenity, I focused on the design principle of movement, and a supportive principle of harmony. My goal was to cause the viewer to feel a sense of peace and fulfillment when viewing my work. The easy to follow alignment of my shapes promotes this feeling, as well as my primary principle of movement. Harmony is represented through the continuous use of circles as well as the reflected shapes between the larger and smaller circles.

Reflection
I learned though this project the impact shapes can have within a composition. I also learned how to use shapes with intention in order to help convey certain meanings towards an audience. I struggled with the concept of this project at first, as I have never done a project that required this amount of introspection. However, as I continued to iterate and explore, I become more familiar with how to use certain shapes to my advantage and the meanings/feeling certain shapes can hold.
