Why minor in English? Because you love your major, but you also love reading. Because culture lifts your spirits. Because you want to write elegantly and persuasively, and employers value communication as a top skill for graduates. Because you want to help others love literacy and use communication, too. Because it is a very flexible minor, letting YOU choose your path.
Because you’ve probably already taken some of the courses required! You may be halfway there.
The minor consists of five undergraduate courses for a minimum of 15 total credit hours. Courses that fulfill minor requirements may also be used to fulfill the university’s General Education requirements.
Requirements
- 3 credit hours of any literature course
- 3 credit hours of an upper-level writing course (English 3304, 3305, 3398, 3405, 3467S, or 4567S)
- 9 credit hours of any other English course 3000-level or above
