Artifact – BuckeyeThon 2016

Joining the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association’s BuckeyeThon Committee has given me invaluable leadership, networking, and marketing experience at this early stage in my collegiate career. I used my network to secure two corporate sponsors for our team, both donations totaling $2,500. I became a leader to our other members; my passion for the cause and to have an impact on these kids’ lives showed in my fundraising, and our other dancers followed suit. I also became a better group member while developing a marketing strategy to recruit dancers and to fundraise. Our team tank top encapsulates what we accomplished as a committee and team; raising over ten thousand dollars for the kids and having a great time during the dance marathon.

The red BuckeyeThon t-shirt represents the community that is built during the two twelve hour shifts. During the fun times and the many hours when we think our feet are going to fall off, the BuckeyThon community stands together to make a difference. Hearing the inspiring stories of the kids and their families and friends was the highlight of my day. I look forward to this time next year when I can show off my new and improved dance moves and maybe be half as good as the kids are.
