Weekly Reflection and Personal Crest 2/9

This week we discussed the leadership traits of charisma, confidence, sociability, intelligence, integrity, and determination which i thought was very interesting, especially the reasons why people organized them from most important to least important. I believe charisma should be first because you have to be bubbly and energetic for people to want to listen to you. After charisma is confidence because you have to have the confidence in order to be able to lead a group and you have to have confidence in your ability and skills as a leader. Sociability is next because does anybody know a successful leader who is not social? You must also be intelligent and be quick on your feet because things can go wrong very quickly and you need to know how to fix them as quickly as possible. Leaders should always have integrity and be honest because so many people are looking up to them. Leaders should lead by example and practice what they preach. The reason I have determination last is because although it is very important to have goals and be motivated, you have to have the confidence, social skills, and intelligence to implement your ideas and reach your goals.

Weekly Reflection 2/1

When we discussed the 6 Pillars of Character in class, I really think that Positivity should be one of the pillars. I’ve encountered so many negative people in my life who never have anything good to say or never seem to have a good day and it makes me wonder how can someone  live a life like that. Being a positive leader is extremely important and I believe people respect you much more when you are positive. I currently am in a job where my team leader is very optimistic and positive and it because of this, I enjoy going into work every day and the optimism and positivity has rubbed off on me and has made me grow substantially.
