Externship Director Halle B. Hara
Professor Halle Hara is a Senior Lecturer and Externship Director at the Moritz College of Law. Professor Hara is an established innovator in law teaching, bringing new ideas and methods to lawyering skills instruction. Hara successfully revamped a law school academic success program from start to finish, implementing an updated approach using learning science and educational psychology and focusing on student self-regulation and autonomy. Professor Hara has continued her innovation at the Moritz College of Law, where she has revamped instruction and administration for the Externship Program and expanded fieldwork placements.
Hara maintains The Law School Playbook: a website, podcast, and YouTube page and teaches legal writing and appellate advocacy, among other courses. Following graduation from the Moritz College of Law, Hara worked as a career and term law clerk in the federal judiciary and as an attorney in large firm practice.
Assistant Director Jillian W. Boone
Professor Jill (Wolosiansky) Boone serves as the Assistant Director of Externships at Moritz. Professor Boone brings with her a decade of experience in varying roles within the state and federal judiciaries. After law school, Boone served as a staff attorney to the Honorable Richard E. Berens of the Fairfield County Court of Common Pleas and thereafter as a law clerk to the Honorable George C. Smith of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Immediately preceding her return to Moritz, Professor Boone spent six years as the Magistrate and Court Administrator for the Fairfield County Common Pleas Court, overseeing felony criminal, civil, and administrative matters. Throughout her time on the bench, Boone was heavily involved in many state-wide associations and initiatives to improve Ohio’s criminal and civil justice systems, a cause she remains passionate about today. Professor Boone graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Moritz College of Law in 2012 and Summa Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University in 2009, where she earned her B.A. in Public Administration along with Academic All-American Honors (Volleyball).
