For my October service project for the Mount Leadership Society Scholars Program, I served as a volunteer at the Fall Harvest Jamboree held at Smith Family Farm. At the event, I was able to give my time and effort to those working hard to make sure the day ran smoothly. I wrapped hot dogs in the concession stand, and I also packaged candy corn and popcorn at a sweets and treats booth. Throughout the day, there were multiple times when someone said to me, “Thank you so much for helping us out today”. It’s simple things like this that make it all worth it. I felt so blessed to be there making a difference. There were so many families that came to the farm to enjoy the day together, and I am very happy to have witnessed them all having a good time. It was an absolutely beautiful day and I am so thankful that I was able to contribute to such a great event next to my fellow Mounties. The whole day was a great experience, and I am looking forward to my next service project in Mount.
