About Me

I am an Associate Professor of Sociology and am affiliated with the Translational Data Analytics Institute. My research interests are in Social Networks, Group Processes, Computational Modeling, Stratification, and Theory. In particular, I have two main research agendas. First, along with Brent Simpson and others, I study how social networks shape prosocial behavior among humans, and the implications of those processes for inequality, segregation, and other negative externalities. Second, I study how status processes shape inequalities.

As of July 2019, I am co-Editor (along with Mike Vuolo) of Sociological Methodology.
