  1. My understanding is that if one flips an iPhone as shown in your graphics, the video will be upside down. The recommendation I received was that the volume controls should be down, so the iPhone should be rotated counterclockwise to shoot videos.

    • That is probably the best practice, but the footage can easily be rotated if it is recorded ‘upside-down’. The main gist is that if you shoot in the vertical orientation there’s no good way to turn something very tall and skinny into widescreen video.
