MCDB family is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. James (Jim) Hopper, and our sympathies go to his family, in particular to his wife, Dr. Anita. He moved to The Ohio State University in 2006, and he joined our program serving as a teacher for the DNA transactions and gene regulation class. All the students currently enrolled in our program, as well as many alumni learned a lot about science from him. But Dr. Hopper was not only a man of science: he used to stop with students after class or around the campus to talk about everything, with his genuine and smart approach to the life in every aspect. We will miss you, Dr. Hopper.
MCDB GSO executive members invite all the students to join us to a campus memorial in the Grand Lounge of the Faculty Club on Friday, February 3, from noon to 2pm.
Here Dr. Hopper’s obituary.
