When is the MBSC open?

The MBSC is open weekdays from 8:30AM to 4:00PM.  We do not close for lunch, but we do close for university holidays.

How soon do I need to pick up my items?

Pickup within a few days of product arrival is always appreciated.  Please let us know if you have any problems, and we will try to arrange for you to pick up outside normal business hours or make special arrangements.

Our lab uses a lot of a specific item.  Can you please add it to your stock list so I can get it faster?

Please email us your ideas.  We welcome your suggestions.

Do I need to attach any special documents to my MBSC Workday requisition?

The MBSC does not usually require extra files unless you request some custom products or special pricing.

If you have any quotes or promos to apply to your order, please attach a copy to your Workday requisition.

If you are ordering Eurofins primers or Tek-pette calibration, we have special order forms available for you to fill out and attach to your Workday requisition.

Where do I get pricing for my MBSC order?

For stock items, we have a MBSC stock guide with exact pricing available for OSU students and employees that we will provide upon request.  For non-stock items, either use the list price for the item or email the MBSC and ask for our exact pricing as our store often has special discounts available.

Can I use this quote or promo?  How do I list it on my order?

The MBSC accepts quotes and promos from all of the direct vendors listed on our website.  We cannot process discounts provided by the companies listed as indirect vendors on our website.  Please contact us if you are unsure which you have.  To reference a quote or promo on your Workday requisition, attach the file by checking the External box, and attach any supporting files or documentation you have.

I want something that isn’t on your stock list.  Can I still get it?

The MBSC currently has about 500 different catalog numbers in stock, but we can order all catalog numbers stocked by the vendors listed on our website and get them delivered to our store free for you to pick up.  Please contact us if you would like to know more about specific product availability and pricing.

How do I know when my product is ready for pickup?

If your order is for a MBSC stock item currently on our shelf, you can either wait for the MBSC to send you an email or you can come to our store as soon as your Workday order has been approved by your department.  The MBSC cannot always guarantee immediate availability of stock items due to possible backorders.

If the MBSC orders a non-stock item for you and has it shipped to our store, we will store it at the recommended temperature and send you an email letting you know that your item is ready to pick up.  The email will be sent to the person who submitted the Workday requisition for the item unless requested otherwise by the lab.

**The MBSC communicates if an item is on backorder and sends updates on current backorders.

Can I order from Abcam through the MBSC?

The MBSC can order Abcam products through an indirect vendor, which may change pricing. The MBSC can provide pricing for specific catalog numbers upon request.

Something is wrong with my product and I need to return or replace it. 

The MBSC would be happy to help resolve any issues with products or services that have been placed through us.  Please email MBSC@osu.edu with a PO- or RQ- number, item #, and a description of the product’s issue. We will help you contact the company for a speedy resolution.

I need dry ice.  Can I get some from you?

The MBSC usually has a small amount of ice packs and dry ice available only for use in transporting temperature sensitive products back to your lab. 

If you know in advance you will need dry ice for an experiment or for shipping purposes, we recommend that you place an order with Stores and have it delivered to your lab. 

In an emergency, you may have to seek an off campus source, such as an ice cream store. 

I probably will not be on campus when my product arrives.  Can someone else pick it up?

The MBSC will send product arrival notices to any email address listed in the “Memo to Supplier” section of the requisition if provided.  Alternately, anyone can email us with a PO- or RQ- number and catalog number combination to ask when that specific product might arrive or is ready to be picked up.
