On May 7, 2010 in the Thompson Library at The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, the academic event The Popol Wuj at OSU: A Celebration of Mayan Classic was held. Dr. Abril Trigo and Dr. Fernando Unzueta explained the significance of the project and its projection in the future. Dr. Carlos M. López presented a brief history and philosophy of the website, and Dr. Maureen Ahern introduced the three distinguished speakers, Dr. Robert Carmack, Dr. Dennis Tedlock, and Dr. Barbara Tedlock.
