If you are new to online discussions take a look at the tutorial page for information on how to be successful in our journal club. There is information on how to choose articles and guide the conversation if you are the lead. There is also information on how to be a productive participant.

What are the questions we are going to discuss for each of our journal club sessions?

You will answer 3 to 4 of these questions about the journal articles that you will be reviewing:

  1. What was the knowledge gained from the article?
  2. Will the research/information in this article change or influence your practice? If so how?
  3. What other questions does the article raise about current practice?
  4. Do you agree/disagree with the conclusions of the author, why?

Okay, what do you do next?

  1. Click here to login.
  2. Click on the newest discussion topic.
  3. Read the articles.
  4. Reply to at least 3 of the 4 prompt questions by clicking on reply in the upper right hand corner and typing your thoughts. Please introduce yourself in your post.
  5. Reply to at least 2 of your peers’ responses to the questions again by clicking on reply. Remember to make your responses meaningful.
  6. Get to know your peers! We all work in different areas but we have a lot in common and can learn a lot from each other.
