Aside from 4-H camp, the county fair was one of the annual highlights of the summer for me. It’s an exciting time of year, but also a little hectic, too. Below is a link of important information that you’ll need to know about the upcoming activities to help plan for the 2017 Marion County Fair. The PDF does allow you to click various hyperlinks to provide additional information.
It’s a great time to remember what 4-H is all about, along with the purpose of the county fair. The fair is full of ribbons, trophies, and winners, but most importantly it’s a place of learning.
The 4-H program isn’t about making the first place project, but it’s about creating a first place kid! Winners at the fair and project judging are those who make an effort to make new friends, those who help a younger or less-experienced exhibitor and work to “make the best better.”
If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of the upcoming activities, please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of your club advisors, adult volunteers, follow 4-H members or the Extension Office.
