Lunar New Year 2021 (Year of the Ox)

Year of the Ox 2021 image2021 marks the 15th anniversary of the Lunar New Year celebration in Hagerty Hall. Although we will not physically come together and celebrate the Year of the Ox on campus, Dr. Rebecca Bias, who has participated in organizing this event since its beginning in 2007, has proposed a virtual celebration for 2021, and this was echoed by all the members of the organizing committee.

Taking advantage of modern technology, we expanded our talent pool not only to Columbus, Ohio, but also to Minnesota, Japan, and China this year. There will be many performances, such as; calligraphy, paper cutting, martial arts, music, and dancing to celebrate the year of the Ox. In Chinese culture, the Ox stands for determination, persistence, strength, and hard work. We hope the online celebration of the Year of the Ox will contribute to a more peaceful and harmonious world. We wish you and your family a Happy, Healthy, and Harmonious Lunar New Year of the Ox!
