In the 2016 fall semester, a group of graduate students from the OSU Department of Art visited Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with Professor Ann Hamilton to see her project, habitus, and to visit the city and its art spaces.
Calista Lyon (MFA 2019) says, “These trips serve as an integral part of the graduate school experience. Artist, Ann Hamilton and HamMer Studio spend a great deal of time planning and organizing the logistics of attending performances, museums, galleries, artist talks and artist run spaces. These types of experiences expose us to a multitude of art communities and offer a window into the ways we can build our networks in the future. I also see these opportunities as a fundamental way to connect to each other, and experience and understand the cultural fabric of the cities outside our direct community.”
