My First Taste of Dentistry

One of my first experiences delving into the dentistry field was volunteering as a Pre-Dental Continuing Education volunteer on campus at the Biomedical Research Tower the fall semester of my freshman year. Getting up at the brisk time of 5:45 AM on that November morning wasn’t the most exciting part as I was stepping foot onto the medical campus for the first time. Despite how I was the usher for the event where current professional dentists and other dental occupations came in, I was able to talk to a few of them. I was able to first-hand see their experience and the passion they had for such an articulate field. Dentistry isn’t just a four to eight-year program that undergraduates have to look forward to; it is a life-long continuing program that you must have the drive for in order to better provide for your patients. With that, I am more than excited to see what dentistry has in store for me and continue volunteering for the Pre-Dental Continuing Education program here at OSU.
