Global Awareness: This Maymester I am studying abroad in Madrid for a month. I was also able to participate in Chinese New Year festivities with my friends.
Original Inquiry: I have started doing research at the Injury Biomechanics lab which primarily focuses on crash test safety.
Academic Enrichment:I have been challenged in all my classes for biomedical engineering that ensure that I will be capable to tackle any future engineering problem.
Leadership Development: I am currently serving on the mentorship committe for the Biomedical Engineering Society and also am an associate member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity currently holding the role of Secretary of my associate class.
Service Engagement: I have volunteered at the physician’s free clinic multiple times as well as other philonthropic events through BMES.

About Me
Hey my name is Geovanny Lara and am a second year in Biomedical Engineering on a pre-med path from Rutherford, New Jersey. I hope to go to medical school and become an orthopedic surgeon after I graduate. I am currently involved on campus in the Biomedical Engineering Society, perform research at the injury biomechanics lab and Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.
