Business Management (suggested course sequence)
Business students at Ohio State ATI gain knowledge and skills in the key business areas of accounting, marketing and sales, business finance, and management, providing students with the tools they need to be successful in business.
Ohio State ATI offers an Associate of Applied Science in business management. Technical courses include accounting, personnel management, advertising and promotion, human resource management, and small business management. Business courses such as personal selling, business law, and economics are also an integral part of the curriculum.
Internships
Students in the business management program complete an internship experience consisting of full-time employment. Students are paid for their employment, graded on their job performance, and awarded academic credit. Recent internship employers include:

• Hawks Nest Golf Course
Career Prospects
Graduates in business management usually enter the work force as management trainees and then advance to the position of assistant manager, manager, sales representative, or marketing
representative.
Agricultural Commerce (suggested course sequence)
Agricultural commerce is the study of business and agriculture. This Associate of Applied Science program combines these two areas so that graduates are prepared to enter the business environment in Ohios number one industry, agriculture.
Internships
Students enrolled in the agricultural commerce program have numerous opportunities for hands-on experience. Agricultural commerce students also complete an industry internship of full-time employment in their field of study. Students are paid for their employment, graded on their job performance, and awarded academic credit. Recent internships include:

• Various implement dealerships
• Champaign Landmark
• Town and Country Cooperative
Career Prospects
Graduates in agricultural commerce find rewarding careers in agricultural businesses in the areas of accounting, customer service, computer applications, sales, and office management. In addition to agricultural businesses, governmental agencies at the federal, state, and local levels employ graduates of this program. Starting a business or returning to a family farm with specialized skills are other career opportunities available upon graduation.

Ohio State ATI also offers an Associate of Science degree in agriculturalbusiness. This degree option allows students to begin their course work toward a Bachelor of Science degree. Students who pursue this degree at Ohio State ATI can meet a portion of the requirements for a bachelor’s degree at The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. In addition, this degree contains the “transfer module,” a common set of general education courses which apply to bachelor’s degrees at other colleges in Ohio.
Food Business Management (suggested course sequence)
The food business management program is an Associate of Science degree. The program allows students to complete 50 percent of tahe requirements for a bachelors degree in food business management.
The program focuses on economics, marketing, human resources, and business practices related to the food industry.
As consumers continue to demand high-quality foods and the government sets more rigid standards for food safety and processing, jobs in food business will continue to grow. Students take a variety of general courses in English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, history, music, rural sociology, and economics.
Internships
Students who transition to the Columbus campus will complete a hands-on, practical internship in the food industry.
Career Prospects
ATI students who choose to complete a Bachelor of Science degree in food business management are prepared for a variety of careers, from commodity purchasing to food product sales and marketing to plant or franchise management. Our graduates have been employed by such firms as:

• Kraft Foods
• Carnation
• Proctor and Gamble
• Smith Dairy
• Smuckers
Our graduates fill a variety of roles in the food industry, including:
• Communications & marketing director
• Plant manager

With the Associate of Science degree, agricultural business majors complete a combination of technical and general courses that allow them to gain hands-on experience while completing 50 percent of the curriculum for a Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture at The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.
