Year In Review

Looking back upon my first year at Ohio State, I am incredibly pleased and eager for the next semester to begin. This past semester, I began taking classes which are more closely related to my major such as Chemistry 1210 and Biology, giving me a better overall idea that I am pursuing a career field that I am genuinely interested in. The classes I took this past semester were definitely more challenging but I found them to be very interesting. In addition to my academic life, I also had the chance to join the sorority Delta Zeta. I have loved Delta Zeta ever since joining and it has truly given me an amazing opportunity to connect with girls who have similar interests to myself as well as discover ways to give back to the Columbus community.

Artifacts

This past August, I had the opportunity of moving in two days early with the OWL program. By becoming an OWL, I was able to meet the people I would be living with this year in Barrett House. During the program we did bonding activities, toured the campus, and attended special OWL events. On our last day as OWL’s, we helped our peers to move-in. I believe that participating in this program helped me to know my way around campus much sooner and helped me to be better acclimated over-all. I hope to become involved in similar groups during my time here at Ohio State, both as a participant and potentially as a leader. I am currently involved with a couple clubs and organizations but I plan on extending my horizons even more so. IMG_7198

About Me

Hi there, my name is Abigail Kramer and I am a freshman Biological Sciences Scholar from Blacklick, Ohio. I have been raised as a Buckeye my entire life so I am very excited to finally begin my studies at The Ohio State University! I attended a small, private high school before coming to Ohio State so this is definitely a big change for me. Going into Ohio State, I wanted to be in the Biological Sciences Scholars program because I plan on pursuing a career in the medical field in order to one day become a pediatrician. I figured that being surrounded by students with goals similar to my own would help to keep me on the right track and also serve as a support system. I cannot wait to see where this year takes me!

Year in Review

I have had a very successful first semester here at Ohio State and I cannot wait to see what is in store for me next semester! I have become totally acclimated and truly feel at home here on campus. All of my classes were of great interest to me and I contribute this to the wonderful TA’s and professors I had, especially in math, Spanish, and psychology. It is very clear that each and every one of them are very passionate about what they do and want to pass on this knowledge to their students. This semester I was involved with CHAARG, a fitness group which aims to empower girls, Real Life, a Christian group, as well as the biological sciences scholars program. I plan on being involved with both of these things again next semester as well as possibly becoming involved with greek life. I have been faced with a new challenge each day since coming to college and I know that I am a lot stronger as a result of this. I am very grateful for all of the wonderful experiences I have had since coming to Ohio State and am looking excitedly toward the next three years.
