Searching and Researching Blog Post

The most useful thing I learned in this module would be the difference between search and research. Some specific examples I have already started to use would be when writing a research paper look for a topic which does not have a right or wrong answer. That way I can state if I agree with the topic or disagree and list the reason why I support my decision. This will help me in the future by writing a well written research paper because I will know the difference between the two. Not only that but it will help me write my papers a lot faster than i usually do because I will know what I am looking for. My advice to students would be if you are anything like me I have trouble writing papers so it does take me longer than usual to complete a simple task. I would suggest doing a research topic on something you are interested in it will make the entire paper easier along with interesting facts you can learn along the way. Lastly I would suggest getting a head start. Start researching early because the more you go into depth is when it becomes difficult to find sources.

Web-Enhanced Reading and Study Strategies Blog Post

Student-

The most useful thing I learned in this module is making the most of memory. I have always had trouble trying to remember what I had just learned or studied. I would spend hours on a single topic till it was the only thing I could think about. I started to write out what I needed to remember in order to do well on the exam. For example my accounting class I would watch the module videos and while I was doing so I would be writing all of my notes in my notebook so it would help me remember what my professor was talking about. In the future I will continue this method because this works best for me I have spent 21 years on my life struggling with memorization and have finally found a solution to the problem. My advice to students would be do what works best for you do not try new things if you have already found a solution it is a waste of time do what you do best overtime you will only get better at it.

Efficiency in the Digital Age Blog Post

Student- I learned may useful things in the module but one that stood out me was reducing digital distractions. Some specific examples are putting my phone on do not disturb and my laptop on mute so I can focus on the task at hand. Doing this made me complete my assignments a lot quicker. I noticed that I would focus more on my assignments and actually pay attention to what I am doing rather than just getting it done. My grades actually began to raise because I would actually take my time with the assignment and read what it was asking me to do. Ideas you can use could be placing your device on do not disturb for thirty minutes at a time if the student was not able to put his or her phone away for the entire time to get the assignment completed. Advice would be treat it as a reward. Complete the assignment and then look at your device as a reward. I have also noticed the longer I do not look at my phone I forget about it and complete more assignments. Once everything is completed I feel like I have accomplished my task for the day and I can relax for the time being and not have to worry about anything else.
