About Me

Hi, my name is Randall Jones and I am a first-year at The Ohio State University in the School of Environment and Natural Resources with a plan to major in Environmental Science. I came to Ohio State from Chantilly, Virginia, where I moved where I was four years old. I was born in San Diego, California and have intentions to return there later in my life, either for my career or as a possible retirement destination. I have been interested in The Ohio State University since I was in elementary school, as Ohio State was one of the first colleges I grew to know as I aged. I was further drawn towards attending Ohio State due to the environmental science program, which is what I have wanted to study for a majority of my life. After I receive my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend law school with the intention of studying Environmental Policy.

I am interested in the environment and sustainability because I want future generations to enjoy our planet in the same way that we do, or possibly even better than we do. I was a member of my high school’s Environmental Impact Club, where we focused on attempting to make the planet a more eco-friendly place. I am interested in joining a club at Ohio State that has some of the same values that my high school’s club did.

My favorite outdoor activities include playing football, soccer, and baseball with my friends. I was a member of my high school’s varsity football team for three of the four years I played. On the football team, I played a number of different positions, but my favorites were free safety and slot receiver. I am very happy to be a member of the ENR Scholars program and I am very excited to have the opportunity to meet everyone over the next few years!
